The game never flagged your character for using the potion either, merely spawning it using the command console (so it was a ridiculously easy thing to work around). The re-spec potion was never the issue so much as getting hold of the thing. Personally I can't see any complications arising from doing this and then copying your character back to the non-modded folder.
Your modded character saves are stored in Documents\My Games\Runic Games\Torchlight 2\ModSave or (Documents\My Games\Runic Games\Torchlight 2\ModSave\7458XXXXXXXXXXXXX) for Steam users.īasically if you want to use that respec potion (which IIRC was a big bone of contention back when the gane first released), you'll need to copy your character over into the modded folder, then activate the mod and buy it. It is possible to copy your saves over from an un-modded state to enable mod access, but be advised that we cannot guarantee that it will work flawlessly, particularly if you take a character from a modded state and bring it back into an un-modded mode of gameplay. To access your previously-created characters, you will need to launch Torchlight II in "vanilla" mode without mods. If you are playing Torchlight II with mods enabled, you will find that characters you have created during an un-modded gaming session are not available from the character selection screen.
